So it's no secret Lake Street Creamery aka us (Beth & Tim) are huge Mad Men fans. We like good movies and good TV and Mad Men is certainly top of the list. It helped ease the misery when The Wire was over and it has continued to be a favorite. As an homage to this masterpiece of televised entertainment we created a flavor called The Don Draper. The Don Draper is Vanilla, bourbon ( Rebel Yell), smoke and a swirl of caramel. It's been a very popular flavor and I have to say I enjoy it when the ladies say with glee "I want Don Draper!" Let's just say there have been many variations of how the flavor has been ordered and always with a devilish smile.
Right after we announced this new flavor we were approached by the crew of Mad Men and asked to visit the set to serve the cast and crew our ice cream. There were several minutes dedicated to jumping up and down and screaming with delight. Ok who are we kidding, we did the happy Pete Campbell dance for weeks prior.
I wanted to share some of the photos from the night we went to the set. I could not speak more highly about every member of the production. Each cast and crew member were gracious, friendly, fun and down to Earth. It was a pleasure being invited and we wish the show continued success! So if you haven't seen it NETFLIX it!
